BREAKOUT
is a Positive Action training and development scheme
which is lawful under the Race Relations Act 1976.
BREAKOUT is
designed to specifically target the statistically recognised
under
representation of Black and Minority Ethnic groups working
in the
film and television industry. The majority of the UK population
are
white (92%). The remaining 8% (4.6million people) belong
to other
ethnic minority groups. Only 5% of the film production workforce
is from a minority ethnic group. The term minority ethnic
in this
context of targeted training and development is used to
refer
to people who belong to an ethnic group numerically smaller
than the (white) majority ethnic group in the UK.
